“The golf holes would rely on the beautiful forest for some of their drama. Due to the narrow corridors and the different light conditions, the shaping would be dramatic." -Rick Baril-
Amid the fresh scent of pine trees and the fairways sheltered from the typically Empordan wind, the Forest course at Empordà Golf is distinguished by being surrounded by a magnificent natural landscape, offering a more intimate and secluded experience, perfect for those seeking a golf day immersed in nature and tranquility.
The Forest course was conceived in 1988 by the renowned architect Robert von Hagge, creator of some of the most recognized golf courses in the world and the first to design a golf course in Spain. Its design, more technical than physically demanding, encourages strategic and thoughtful play, where concentration and precision are key.
The holes wind through a pine forest, the fairways are narrower and the greens elevated, protected by intelligently placed búnkers, with small water features such as on hole 6 adding character and challenge to the course. All of this creates a captivating setting that, while more approachable than the Dunes course, still requires a good dose of skill and strategy. These pine-surrounded holes are among the most beautiful in Catalonia.
Unlike Dunes, where scale and light dominate the landscape, Forest leaves its mark through intimacy and calm, inviting players to immerse themselves in a nuanced course or enjoy the silence and focus.
TEST YOUR SKILL:
This is a course designed to enjoy both the scenery and the game. Ideal for players looking to improve their technique in an inspiring environment.
Fast fairways require adjusting the direction of your shot, while subtle yet tricky obstacles such as búnkers challenge accuracy on every stroke. Both novice and experienced players will find a challenge suited to their level.
The most challenging hole is 13, a par 5 with a dogleg, where proper tee placement is crucial to tackle it correctly. Additionally, the approach to the green is not easy, with a strategic búnker beside it ready to punish any mistake.
Discover the more natural side of golf. Book your round at the Forest course and let yourself be enveloped by the scent of pine, the silence of the trees, and the beauty of a course that demands concentration and rewards with unique sensations.
